Our most-booked lesson. An hour and a half at Playa Makaha in a small group of three to four students per certified instructor — small enough to get real coaching, big enough that you'll meet a new surf buddy. Most students stand up on a wave in their first session.

Common questions.
How many students per instructor?
Groups run three to four students — we never overload a group, that's the difference between a lesson and a pool of people. The group rate is per person.
What if I'm faster (or slower) than the rest of my group?
Our instructors split attention based on what each student needs. If the group is on very different levels we'll quietly suggest a private lesson instead.
Can I bring my own board?
Of course — but for your first session we recommend the soft-tops. They're forgiving in ways your shins will appreciate.
